Community Journalism and Desktop Publishing Workshop

July 14th 2009

T he Publications team of CFA’s CMMA award-winning Gospel Komiks and Pambata magazines will be conducting Community Journalism and Desktop Publishing this Aug. 17-21, 2009. A total of 22 catechists and educators from different dioceses will be participating in the workshop and they will be expected to learn how to publish their own newspapers, bulletins, magazines, brochures and other print materials for their schools and organizations.

The sessions will include topics on news and feature writing, layouting, computer graphics, basic photography and, if there is time, a tour of a printing press. The participants will also learn how to convert their output into CDs and even upload them on the web.

This is a part of a 2-year project that aims to empower catechists and religious educators in the use of media in the work of evangelization. This is made possible by the Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), a project partner of CFA in various media training programs.
