Diocesan Media Directors’ Training Gears Up for Phase Two

C CFA has the go-ahead for Phase Two of the Diocesan Media Directors’ Training (DMDT) Series, the first phase of which was originally launched in 2005. The German agency Aid to the Church in Need has approved a new grant for two more years, 2007-2008.

The first DMDT series consisted of six seminars in 2005-2006, offering five-day courses on desktop publishing, web design, video production, creative dramatics, powerpoint presentation and community radio. The workshops were aimed at empowering diocesan communicators and pastoral workers from various provinces to use media creatively for evangelization.

CFA decided to offer a new round of seminars after the successful conclusion of the first phase of the training program. The feedback from participants showed that they wanted and needed advanced training for radio and video, as well as new skills training on other media forms and technology. Phase Two is expected to offer such subjects as Community Publications, Advanced Web Design, Linux, Animation, Advanced Video Production, Community Radio and Proposal Writing.
