CFA extends Paglinang 2014 to NFWCP

The Communication Foundation for Asia (CFA) extends Paglinang 2014 to National Federation of Women’s Clubs of the Philippines (NFWCP) in a staggered schedule on June 21 and 28, July 12, 19 and 26, 2014, which offers lectures and activities on Kindergarten and Early Years Curriculum.

The Characteristics of Young Learners and The Importance of Play

The morning session of the first day focused on the Early Years and The Kindergarten Curriculum given by Dr. Zenaida Domingo, Communication Consultant of the Early Child Care and Development Center (ECCD). In the afternoon, Ms. Christina Mercurio, CFA’s Special Projects Team Leader talked about the Characteristics of Young Learners and the Importance of Play.

She also tackled the Developmentally Appropriate Practices in the morning session of Day 2. Highlighting the need to use our mother tongues as medium of instruction starting at the early years, was given by Dr. Ricardo Nolasco, associate professor of the University of the Philippines-Diliman, Department of Linguistics in the afternoon session.

The training-workshop is being attended by 62 participants from different Preschools and Daycare centers of the NFWCP Teachers’ Club.
