Today’s Readings: Acts 1:1-11/Eph 1:17-23/Mt 28:16-20
REFLECTION
The Ascension of Jesus means that the Father has exalted Jesus in glory and has given him power and authority over all. And the Gospel tells us that the Risen Jesus sent the disciples on a mission and assured them of his guidance and presence ‘until the end of time.’ Christians are disciples of Jesus who are sent to become witnesses of God’s love, to proclaim the Good News to others and to lead others to God through acts of love.
We can be faithful witnesses of Jesus if we live daily by his Word, imitate his example of caring, forgiving, serving and sharing. Let us not become weary of making Jesus known to people through deeds of kindness because as he promised, he will always be with us.
