Love : The Center Of Our Life
02 July 2011
Today’s Readings: Gen 27:1-5,15-29 / Lk. 2: 41-51
REFLECTION
Putting God, the author of love at the center provides the family an atmosphere in which to live, grow, develop, mature and ultimately arrive at a degree of perfection.
Today’s human family is in need of that love as it finds itself in critical situation. There are just too many factors that endanger the family life. Poverty and the lack of opportunities for employment, sexual permissiveness, depiction of violence and pornography in media cause numerous crises among family members.
Today’s gospel reminds every human family about the sacredness and nobility of family life. It is a gift of God. The secret of an enduring family life is to put the love of God in every aspect of our daily living.
If it is true that love conquers all, then the love of God will make it possible for every family to overcome all obstacles.
The history of humankind, the history of salvation, passes by way of the family. The family is placed at the center of the great struggle between good and evil, between life and death, between love and all that is opposed to love.
PRAYER
Loving Father make all families strive, first and foremost to unleash the forces of good, the source of which is found in Christ. Let there be love centered on the love of Christ.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
