CFA Launches Peacebook

SEPT 7TH 2011

Communication Foundation for Asia will launch its 3rd Peace Traveling Exhibit “Peacebook” that will feature the video documentary of the same title and the artwork of camp 2010. The event will be held on Sept. 16, 2011 at 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the CFA Lagerwey Hall.

“Peacebook” chronicles the life-changing experiences of the 31 high school students from their peace camp “Communicating Peace: Celebrating Filipino Unity in Diversity” in the summer of 2010. It will narrate how the camp became a pivotal point in their lives as they encountered kids from other schools and other religions and regions in the Philippines. The transformations of the participants are expressed in the art exhibit of etchings, journal entries and photographs that will also be part of the whole event.

The launch will bring together the participants from Ramon Avancena High School and the Nazarene Catholic School, with their parents and teachers. Representatives from partner peace organizations including the CBCP-Episcopal Commission on Inter-religious Dialogue, are also expected to join the event. Immediately after, the Peacebook Traveling Exhibit will tour the country and invite the Filipino youth to become peace advocates.
