Work Values Seminar in Calapan City

JUNE 2ND 2009

The CFA Training Team conducted a two-day Work Values Seminar for 62 teaching and non-teaching staff of the Holy Infant Academy in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro last May 28 to 29, 2009.

The seminar was held on the invitation of the school director, Fr. Nestor Adalia, who is also the Vicar General of the Calapan Vicariate and is in charge of 14 Catholic Schools. He proposed that the event be part of the In-service Training (INSET) program of the school in preparation for the schoolyear.

The program allowed the participants to discover their personal vision, mission and values which they had to check for alignment with those of the school. Their personal mission statements also became the basis of the time management session which was conducted on the second day. On the second afternoon, the participants had team-building games to deepen their teamwork and community spirit.

Upon the conclusion of the seminar, participants expressed their sincere appreciation for the facilitated process of discovery of what matters most to them. They were also encouraged to continue their work of touching lives of people in school, especially the young students. Analyn Alla, one of the teacher-participants, said, “What I liked most in the seminar was the part on making the mission statement because I was able to clarify the things that matter to me. I also learned that I am an important part of the whole and thus I need to be involved and to be productive.”

The seminar was facilitated by Bob Lopez and Melissa Cortez of the CFA Training Department. The Work Values Seminar is conducted upon the invitation of groups and schools who wish to partner with CFA.
