In celebrating the festive season, how can we make our Christmas parties more eco-friendly? The Tondo Youth Association (TYA) scholars celebrated a fun and educational Christmas party on December 20, 2019. In this event, 23 TYA scholars gathered for a ‘Green Christmas’ celebration at the Communication Foundation for Asia. Eco-friendly practices were introduced to guide the scholars on how to have a ‘Green Christmas’. Jr Bombarda (Community Engagement Desk) advised them to consider the environmental costs of the celebration. He also appealed for a responsible consumption to prevent continuous degradation of the environment.
Through this forum, they shared their thoughts about environmental stewardship and also promised to observe green practices to prevent further deterioration of the environment. TYA scholar Mary Grace Fancubit shared that “we should not forget to prioritize the interest of the environment in celebrating Christmas.”
