About Us
At Communication Foundation for Asia (CFA), we've been on a remarkable journey since 1968, pioneering the field of development communication in the Philippines.
CFA’s origins date back to 1960 when the Social Communications Center was established, with the publication of the Philippine Catholic Digest. This journey was initiated by Dutch missionary Fr. Cornelio Lagerwey, MSC, along with his mission partner Genaro V. Ong and other Filipino communicators. Their mission was to use media production and training to spiritually uplift and empower people.
Today, CFA has grown into a multi-media center with nearly 100 staff. We are involved in producing video documentaries and TV programs, creating educational and religious publications for hundreds of thousands of student subscribers, conducting communication skills and media education workshops, and organizing various media events, including film festivals and peace communication camps.
