What we do
Priority Themes
To further our mission, CFA has identified four priority development themes:
Citizenship Education
We believe in training and motivating individuals to become responsible citizens of both their country and the global community. This includes instilling values like respect for human rights, love of country, and social awareness. We aim to inspire and empower Filipinos to participate in community affairs and address national issues.
Poverty Alleviation
Poverty alleviation goes beyond meeting basic needs. It’s about addressing powerlessness, oppression, and the lack of freedom. We aim to widen economic opportunities for marginalized groups through communication capacity-building.
Environmental Concern
CFA is committed to upholding the integrity of creation and promoting sustainable development. We aim to engage stakeholders in dialogues about pollution, global warming, and environmental abuses. We also involve youth in practical mitigations to combat environmental degradation.
Family Integrity
Values formation is at the heart of social transformation, and the family plays a vital role in this process. CFA focuses on creating positive and transformative communication within and across families and communities.
Our History
Despite these obstacles, we continued to develop innovative media projects
Our journey began in 1968 when Ang Tao Foundation was established, which later became the Communication Foundation for Asia in 1975. Over the years, we have faced challenges, including the declaration of martial law in 1972. Despite these obstacles, we continued to develop innovative media projects, including movies, radio dramas, and magazines.
Recent Years
In recent years, we’ve expanded our programs, embracing new strategic plans and focusing on priority themes, such as poverty alleviation, citizenship education, and environmental protection. We’ve partnered with various organizations and launched initiatives like Peace Camps, international film festivals, and Good Governance and Engaged Citizenship contests.
