The Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas (UMPIL) recognized the five-decade service of Communication Foundation for Asia (CFA) in the field of social communication through the power of newspapers, radio, television and films that promote the good of society.
UMPIL acknowledged most exemplary the Gospel Komiks which has been running since 1980s and has transcended through time as it evolved in the digital platform. The introduction of Gospel Komiks, Sunday gospels were popularised through modern comics storylines. It became the longest-running comics periodical for CFA and was distributed through parishes and elementary schools.
Through a virtual ceremony, CFA Executive Director Ms. Pie Fenomeno received the Gawad Pedro Bucaneg on April 30, 2021.
